It LIVES!

After catching a movie at Riverport today, me and Alice decided to head into the heart of Richmond for some drinks. Of the places we regularly visit, there has been one that we both LOVE, but never seems to be open. Literally, we have been dropping by that place at least 6 times in the past year, and it was always closed!

We decided to try our luck again today, and to our delight, found the garish LED ‘OPEN’ sign beaming warmth back into our hearts. The place was of course, salle de thé Tea Room @113.

One of the reasons we love it here is because it’s QUIET, which virtually doesn’t exist in Little Hong Kong Richmond. Another reason we love it is because it offers a wide selection of quality teas (and wines/spirits/beer now) at a fairly reasonable price. I’m looking at YOU, Secret Garden =P

Upon speaking with Ida, the owner/manager/server (I actually just found out her name today), I discovered that Tea Room was actually closed for about a year while it was trying to get a liquor license. So now in addition to fine teas and some of the best cheesecake I’ve ever had, they also serve various wines, spirits, and import beer, as well as a selection of cheeses and prosciutto (I haven’t tried these yet).

To my surprise, the owner still remembers me from before the hiatus, when I was (somewhat) of a regular. Which is great, because she still gives me little extras on my orders =D

So if anyone’s in the mood for a quiet place with a nice atmosphere, and good teas at a decent price, give Tea Room a try. The address is:

WINSTONE PLAZA
