Lemmings

So I was once again at the Metrotown bus loop today, waiting for the 49 bus to take me to school. As I was coming down the escalator, I notice about 6 or 7 people were already in line for the bus; the line was formed away from the curb, as I had expected.

So I took my place behind an elderly lady, but I stood a little to the left, just to see if the next person would follow me and bend the line. And he did! I looked back a few minutes later to see that I was now standing right in the middle of the bend - the line eventually cornered again, since it was headed straight into a pillar. With that, I came to this conclusion: most people just like to follow the leader. If someone shakes things up in the line, they just go with it.

I think next time I’m going to try forming a right angle.
